The Power of Story to Bless.

We can feel powerful as a human race when we build machines, skyscrapers or even cities as we can feel it when we are validated, rich and famous, however this power comes from an external finite source.

The power that is infinite and sustainable flows from the inner worlds and can be maintained by story and from befriending bear, horse, wolf, even thunder, lightening and volcano to be in harmony with nature, to be part of the ecological web of life. Here, there is no hierarchy for that power also flows from worm, beetle, soil and the mouse.

I have just had the great privilege to share story all night long at Butser Ancient Farm and the blessings that come from story immersion cannot be underestimated. To enter into a tradition for a long period of time enables one to enter into the rich tapestry of our inner worlds, to step out of time to receive the blessing and healing that comes from re-imagining our past to create our ideal present. This happens in story as it helps us to heal our deep ancestral pain which causes us to believe in a world which is corrupt.

Our next celebration will be for Lughnasadh and I shall be sharing the ancient stories, poems and chants which reflect the importance of the soil. We shall discover the Goddess of the soil as well as our most ancient Druids who were dedicated to the Earth, Sea and Sky.

I cannot recreate these events online and the healing offered to the earth and to all of us cannot be underestimated. These events also support community and the all important venues where we can gather that we cannot assume will always be there.
